As I said last Sunday, 24 of us had a great experience attending the Tony Evans conference that was held at THE COVE last week. I will organize another trip next year—but don’t wait on us. If you get a chance to go to THE COVE to hear one of the speakers they have—DO. Sue […]

A Matter of Priority Have you ever come across people who clearly have misplaced priorities? We can look at them and realize what they care about is completely out of whack. One such example is that of Marcin Muchalski. Marcin was a tough New Yorker – I’ll give him that much – who was approached […]

Let’s begin the message this morning with a quick survey about how you wake yourselves up every morning. How many still use alarm clocks? How many use their cell phones? How many ask Alexa to rouse you from your slumber? How many use their grandkids? I’ve learned I can almost literally set my clock by […]

Your salt-of-the-earth lifestyle produces consistent and potent good works that people can’t help but notice, and your light-of-the-world brightness illuminates God as the source of them. A lifestyle of distinct living as a follower of Jesus may get people’s attention – especially as you meet their needs in sacrificial ways – but they need the illumination of the Good News of Jesus to understand you’re not just a really nice person. And a lifestyle of sharing the illuminating message of Jesus is a must, but it will fall on deaf ears if people can’t connect it to the distinct, salty acts that reflect the love of Jesus.

This afternoon Sue and I are meeting Daniel somewhere north of Richmond. He’s bringing Lydia and Joel to us so they can go to RBC Camp this week. I can guarantee that during their stay with us we’ll be playing several games of HIDE AND SEEK because that’s one of our favorite things to do […]

Matthew 16: 24 – Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. 25 – For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it. Philippians 3:12 – Not that I have already […]

A little over twenty years ago—back in the “olden days” when I was the Youth Minister—shortly after the invention of the wheel—back then we had a church member—a young woman—who was a social worker for Montgomery County. As part of her job she worked with teenage boys who lived in two group homes in our […]
|Series: Convictions That Connect||Preacher: Mark Adams||Date: June 3, 2018||Scripture Reference: Hebrews 11:1-6|
1 – Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 – This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 – By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4 – By faith […]
|Series: Convictions That Connect||Preacher: Kevin Freeman||Date: May 27, 2018||Scripture Reference: Ephesians 2:4-9|
As we explore God’s saving grace – one of our “convictions that connect” – we need to ask two questions. First, do we understand God’s grace? Second, does it “wow” us? Our study will take us to the exciting truths about the role of grace in our salvation so that we can come away with a renewed passion produced by it.
